Up for grabs is an oddity for us where we actually know nothing about something we're selling. Weirdly enough we think this shell and visor have been floating around our warehouse for a couple years and perhaps the story is lost to too many post work Budweisers. This shell does bear a Playboy Bunny which is synonymous with the Navy/Marine Corps VMAQ-2 unit that has had that logo adorned on their planes since the 50's; we don't believe it to be one of theirs. The more likely is someone did the logo to look like one of the helmets worn in Apocalypse Now (1979) by the "Playboy Squadron"; a fictional air unit operating Hueys in the movie. Unfortunately we just don't know. The helmet is also stripped of any other identifying marks to indicate the size which we believe are all technically "XL" and the liners dictate the size but we could be wrong there as well.
This is a cool project piece that also comes with an extra visor assembly that has an ANVIS mount attached as well.
